The circuit board housing, molded from 20% calcium carbonate-filled polypropylene for durability,
required a very complex mold to produce this seemingly simple-looking part:
Two-cavity production mold for hot runner

Part has a double living hinge
Part has a series of very small, round holes formed by
sealing off areas on the A side with steel pins standing up from the
B side
This is a critical design factor related to potential for
flash (excess material attached to a molded product,
which must be removed)
Pins at end of circuit board fit into this area
Oval cutouts formed to fit plug into this area
